Support for Residents
No two people experience dementia in the same way. No two people have the same physical and emotional support needs.
Therefore, to meet the needs of each unique individual, we involve family members and personal physicians to tailor each resident's support plan. Getting to know your loved one is vital to providing the very best in care and personal assistance.
Our programs of care include regular health monitoring by our staff RN/BSN, who is on call 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. We also have LPNs administering medications and monitoring any medical concerns on a daily basis. Residents can be seen by their own personal physician on the premises, and many other services can be delivered here on site, including lab work, EKGs, x-rays, and physical, occupational and speech therapy.
One of the major goals of each support plan is to allow the individual to live a happy life as naturally as possible. Frequently, we can help minimize the need for antipsychotic or other psychiatric medications by focusing on approaches that help the resident find daily activity patterns and a lifestyle that works for them.
Support for Families
Supporting families is a hallmark of one of the many special services we provide at Oakwood Terrace. We learn each resident’s life story and personal preferences, tailor a support plan and keep the lines of communication open so families can be involved in the care of their loved one.
